Conditions of Sale
1. Since the mail is not always dependable, and in order to give our clients
the best service, we strongly recommend that you call your bids in early. We
will be happy to assist you with your bidding, answer any questions, or give
more exact descriptions of the lots.
2. Each lot in this sale has an
estimated price to aid the bidder. If a lot has not been opened, we ask that you
start the bidding at
50% of the low estimate.
3. You may call at any
time prior to the closing of the sale to check the status of your bid. At that
time you will be informed of the highest current bid. You may then, of course,
raise your bid if you desire.
4. Your bid, either written or oral, grants
Glass International the authority to bid for you, up to the amount of the stated
bid.
5. The current bid is determined by taking the second highest bid,
then increasing it by one bidding increment. Increments will be as follows:
Bidding Increments:
Up to $250 ----- increments of
$10.00
$ 250-$500 ----- increments of $25.00
$ 500-$1,000--- increments of
$50.00
$1,000-$ 2,500- increments of $100.00
$2,500-$5000-- increments of
$250.00
$5,000-10,000- increments of $500.00
$10,000- --- 20,000--
increments of $1000.00
$20,000---30,000 --- increments of $2500.00
$30,000
& up--- increments of $5000.00
Please note that our online auction software does not automatically raise the minimum bidding increments as the bidding gets higher. As the price changes you must manually bid the correct increment. We apologize that this is not an automated feature in our program. We are currently updating the system, thank you for your cooperation.
6. In the event of tie bids, the earliest bid received will be the winner.
7. The auctioneer will not disclose pledged bids, only the current high bid.
8. A 12% buyer's premium will be added to the hammer price if an item's
highest bid is less than $10,000. A 10% buyer's premium will be added to the
hammer price if an item's highest bid is $10,000 or more.
9.
Incoming phone bids will be accepted up to 11:00 P.M., Eastern Daylight Time, on
the closing day May 28, 2010. Any calls already on hold at that
time will be accepted. Calls coming in after 11:00 P.M. will not be honored. The
mail is not always on time. If the sale date is less than one week away, please
call your bids in. Please call in your questions about lots prior to closing day
otherwise, we may not be able to spend as much time with you as necessary, due
to the last minute rush.
10. We are open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday
through Friday, so please call for information or to place bids. Although we
will diligently contact bidders who have requested a call back, we urge bidders
to check their bid status by calling in during the the call back phase of the
auction.
11. Call back service: If you desire a call back on any lot you
may have been outbid on, please place a check on your bid sheet next to those
lots. Any lots that have not been resolved prior to the closing time will be
resolved by callbacks over the next few days. Please indicate the telephone
number, on your bid sheet, where you can be reached between 9:00 A.M. - 8:00
P.M. Eastern Standard Time. Bidders may forfeit Call Back rights if we are
unable to reach you. You may, in addition, call us a callback. No callbacks will
be executed on any lots at bidding levels under $100.
12.You will be
permitted to increase bids only on lots that you have placed bids on prior to
12:00 P.M. of the closing day of the sale. No bidding will be permitted on
additional lots, which you have not placed a bid on prior to the closing time,
during the Call Back period.
13. The highest bidder shall prevail. It is
the sole right of the Auctioneer to settle any dispute between bidders, to offer
for resale any lot under question and to regulate the bidding. The Auctioneer
also reserves the right to refuse any bid he believes not to have been made in
good faith.
14. There is no sniping! You are bidding in a “call back”
absentee action. If you are bidding at the last minute, please contact us by
email or phone to continue participating in the auction process, or your bid
will be taken as a final bid. In the event of a final bid, should no one raise,
or enter the auction by phone with a higher bid, then you will be notified by
invoice that you have won the lot; should the under bidder raise the bid by
proxy or otherwise, you will be outbid and have no chance to participate
further.
In the closing hours of the auction bids are taken over the
phone as well as on the internet. New bids are received over the phone within
the final hours & minutes of the sale and do not always reflect on the internet,
so if you are bidding at the last minute and want to know the current status of
a particular lot, please call in, phones will be open or we will call you back.
We encourage bidders calling us or emailing, especially if they are coming in
late.
15. All lots are guaranteed genuine as described both as to
condition and authenticity. Any lots may be returned within 10 days if that
condition is inaccurately described. We must receive all returned items in the
same condition as when shipped. Any dispute as to authenticity must be made
within, three months of the auction date.
16. If you are a New Jersey
resident, appropriate sales tax will be added to your invoice. If you are exempt
from tax by virtue of a resale number, please send us a copy of your
certificate, unless it is already on file with us.
17. If you are an out
of state or foreign dealer and you wish to pick up your lots at the Gallery you
must, make arrangements with us, and submit a New Jersey out of state resale
permit.
18. Shipping and packaging charges will be added to your bill
unless the lots are picked up in person. All shipping will be via UPS unless
otherwise requested. Certain items purchased in this auction may be subject to
higher shipping charges due to their bulk and size. International shipping will
be by COD. And only packing and handling charges will be added to your invoice.
19. Successful bidders will be notified by email or mail. Payment is due
upon receipt of invoice in U.S. funds.
20. Lots will be shipped upon
receipt of payment in full.
21. Bidder will forfeit all claims on lots
unpaid for after a period of 3 weeks, unless we are contacted and other
arrangements are made and agreed to by Glass International.
