AMERICAN MIDATLANTIC PATTERN- MOLDED BLOWN GLASS; C .1750 -1820
MidAtlantic Pattern Molded Glass of the United States c. 1750 -1820 ; a study of Colonial and Federal period pattern molded glass made in New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania. This study is an attempt to become familiar with the use of pattern molds used in the east, techniques and style, which gradually worked its way west with the expantion of a young, now thriving, American glass industry. Although minimal text is offered at this time, it should be of interest to collectors to find that rib counts most associated with MidWestern & Ohio Glass production, were the same rib counts most widely and repedatively used in the east, years before gaffers migrated westward. The examples featured in this pictorial study have recently been placed in private collections in conjuction with Glass International and various expert dealer /collectors in the field.Click on thumbnails to see larger photo
